I’m Dan Conner and I have three books I authored being published in 2023!
These include what is probably my most accomplished work yet, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Battle For Pumpkin King! I am the writer for this series, for a story envisioned by Shaun McLaughlin and D.J. Milky, illustrated by Deborah Allo and Roberto Scalia! This is in addition to new editions of my middle-grade graphic novels of Shakespeare plays I adapted. With new titles and cover art, my comic editions of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and William Shakespeare’s King Lear are beautifully illustrated by my friends Rod Espinosa and Ben Dunn with Robby Bevard, Wes Hartman, and Tony Galvan, respectively. These books are made specifically for schools and libraries, in the new Illustrated Shakespeare Classics series, as published by ABDO. They’re 48-page, reinforced library-bound hardcovers, retailing at $23.95 each, but I’ve found them discounted on Amazon.
I’m also one of LinkedIn’s top 5 Comic Book Colorists, perhaps being best known as the color artist for the Diamond Gem Award-nominated Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey comic book published by Disney Manga and TokyoPop. You might also know me from my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles covers from IDW or various covers for Archie Comics.
My Gal, the Zombie is the most prominent comic series of my own creation and some of my proudest work includes cover colors for Casper’s Ghostland and Archie Meets Ramones. I’ve also worked on Halloween Man, the Three Stooges, Underdog, Pink Panther, Cleopatra in Space, and a variety of other titles. Musical groups for whom I’ve provided art include the Misfits, Huntingtons, and Five Iron Frenzy. As a comics writer, I’ve done adaptations of Shakespeare plays, the Picture of Dorian Gray, and Dracula for ABDO (check your local library!) and various other comics like Pirates vs. Ninjas for Antarctic Press. I’ve also written for CBR (Comic Book Resources).
